By the time a woman reaches the age of forty, she already needs to have a plan or a program to beat the signs of aging. At this time, gravity has taken its toll on the skin, breasts, and body. Moreover, lines start appearing, the skin loses elasticity and excess weight seem to be harder to lose.
Even if your goal is to age gracefully, it does not mean that you should not do anything to protect your skin, body and appearance. There are a lot of things that you can do to stay beautiful and foxy at forty and beyond even without having injections or going under the knife. Read on and start following the tips below on how to look and feel younger naturally.
Protect Your Bones
Nothing can make you look older than a cane or a walker. In order to prevent having bone problems in the future, you need to start protecting your bones now. Once you have reached menopause, your bone density will substantially be reduced if you do not act now.
Make sure that you get the dietary requirement for calcium everyday. Aside from taking calcium supplements, you can also increase consumption of foods that are rich in calcium, such as broccoli and milk among others. In order for your body to absorb this mineral effectively, you also need Vitamin D. The best source of this vitamin is the sun. Make sure that you get a dose of the morning sun (from 6AM to 8AM) for about 15 minutes everyday. Other than the abovementioned hours, sunrays can already be harmful to your skin, so watch out.
Stay Out Of Harmful Rays From The Sun
Again, you only need at least 15 minutes of sunshine in the early morning to get a good dose of Vitamin D. Exposure to the sun after the said period can be detrimental to your skin. Experts have said time and again that overexposure to the sun can cause skin diseases, such as cancer of the skin. Furthermore, exposure to the UVA and UVB rays of the sun is a major cause of skin aging. If you do not want to have freckles, sunspots, skin discoloration and wrinkles, use sunscreen every time you step outside your home or office in the morning and afternoon. Also, always wear sun protection when you are at the beach.
Watch Your Weight
As you grow older, your metabolism becomes more sluggish, especially if you are not physically active. So, at this time, you better watch what you are eating. Make sure that you eat plenty of vegetables and fruits, drink a lot of water, and stay away from fatty and sugar-filled goodies.
It may also be a good time to exercise regularly. If you are not a gym buff, just do some brisk walking at least 30 minutes everyday. You can also enroll in swimming, dancing, yoga and other fun classes and activities. If you want to boost your sex life and at the same time lose weight, try pole dancing, sensual aerobics or belly dancing. Surely your hubby or partner will not mind a slimmer body and a few new moves in the bedroom.
Perk Up Your Breasts
As mentioned earlier, the effects of gravity may already be showing in your breasts. Most probably, your boobs are starting to bow down and head south.
Breast enhancement surgery is not the only answer to this problem. Wearing the right type of bra, one that has underwires and thick back straps for more support, can really make your boobs look perky and firm. Standing and sitting straight can also make your chest look a lot bigger than your tummy. Lastly, you can also try using breast enhancement creams, such as Clevastin, to help retain the shape and improve the firmness of your breasts.
